The journey into law…

James commenced his journey in law as an Associate to His Honour Judge Street at the Federal Circuit Court before moving into private practice. He has worked in several Sydney firms, from the CBD to Parramatta.

 

Whilst he has practiced in a number of areas of law, James has practiced family law since becoming a solicitor in 2015.

 

Experience in family law

James has practiced family law since his admission to the legal profession. He has extensive experience in all areas of family law, from property and parenting to child support, spousal maintenance and binding financial agreements.

 

James is also adept at advocacy and regularly appears in the Federal Circuit and Family Court on behalf of his clients. He has close relationships with several specialist family law barristers and takes pride in ensuring his clients get the best service available.

 

While James is a passionate advocate for his clients, he also strongly believes in cost-effective methods of resolving matters and has had great success in mediating even complex matters.

 

Other areas of expertise

In addition to his family law practice, James also has experience in drafting wills and in family provision litigation, where beneficiaries are seeking to contest the distribution of an estate.

 

Whilst he does not practice anymore, James previously practiced in both criminal law and children’s care and protection.

James’ passion for family law stems from a love of working with people to solve problems. Family law matters can lead to some of the worst and darkest periods in a person’s life. James enjoys working closely with his clients to help them to find solutions and tailoring his approach to the person in front of him.

Passion outside of the law

James is a sports tragic, which is good because most of the teams he loves to support have been terrible for years!

 

He loves rugby league, AFL, football and the NFL. He is also a big fan of exercise, video games and spending time with his wife and family.
