Legal Secretaries

We currently have a fantastic opportunity for an intermediate or senior legal secretary to work full-time in our Sydney office. In this role, you will provide quality and efficient support to the family law team.

What does the role involve?

The Family Law team is highly collaborative and the work you will perform will be dynamic in nature. Your primary role will be to assist the lawyers and practice group in making sure the practice runs smoothly.

On any given day you could be:

– Managing diaries and arranging appointments, booking rooms and ensuring client needs are met
– Providing general administrative support to partners and family lawyers
– Assisting with the monthly billing process
– Managing the team’s filing including electronic files
– Handling confidential information and opening new matters
– Inputting and maintaining client data into LEAP
– Assisting with client queries
– Assisting with client development work.
– Ideally you will have 2 to 5+ years’ experience as a legal secretary.

Paralegals – Family Law

We are looking for an energetic, collaborative and down to earth professional that can join our tight knit team and hit the ground running. You are diligent, have excellent attention to detail and enjoy working both in a team and autonomously. You also have a proven track record of supporting legal teams efficiently for a minimum of 2 years. Sound like you? Keep reading!

What You Will Be Doing

You will support the family lawyers in the administration and progression of their matters. You will be expected to have a strong competency in preparing correspondence, dealing with clients and third party via telephone and preparing Court documents.

You will have the opportunity to work closely with our family lawyers in the clerical and legal requirements of their matters, providing you an opportunity to develop your own skills in these areas.

To be considered for this role, you will need to possess:

– minimum of 2 years’ experience in a paralegal role
– positive attitude who loves contributing to an amazing client experience
– brilliant attention to detail with an ability to maintain high quality work
– exceptional communication skills both written and verbal
– highly organised with the ability to work autonomously and meet workload commitments under tight timeframes
– demonstrable experience with LEAP or similar legal software
– proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office tools i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook
– word processing skills, data entry experience

– WIP Management

The successful applicant will be able to effectively communicate in difficult situations and will ideally have:

– Minimum 4 years experience in a legal practice – trust account experience essential;
– Proficiency in XERO, LEAP, and Microsoft Programs;
– An ability to communicate and negotiate with clients / third party service providers to the practice;
– Customer service orientation and negotiation skills; and
– Accuracy and attention to detail.

Only applicants with experience in a law firm and in managing a trust account with be considered.
