The journey into law… 

Since her admission to the Supreme Court of NSW in July 2021, Jessica has worked predominantly in Family Law assisting clients with a wide range of issues including from divorce, separation, child custody and parenting matters, property division, financial agreements, and matters related to domestic violence.

 

Working in Family Law requires a deep understanding of the relevant laws and regulations, as well as strong communication and negotiation skills to assist clients in resolving their disputes. The nature of these cases can be emotionally charged, so empathy and sensitivity are also crucial qualities for a lawyer in this field.

 

Experience in family law 

Prior to working at Unified, Jessica was employed at two top prestigious Family Law firms located in Sydney and Western Sydney.

Other areas of expertise 

Prior to commencing in Family Law, Jessica worked in a criminal law firm which exposed her to gain invaluable experience in the field of criminal law. This is most beneficial in her Family Law practice, as certain family law matters may intersect with criminal issues, especially involving domestic violence or child abuse. Her previous experience in crime, enables Jessica to better advocate for her client’s best interests and understand the potential implications of criminal charges in family law proceedings.

 

The passion for family law

Family law matters often involve sensitive and personal issues, which can be extremely stressful on a client’s life and wellbeing. As a result, Jessica strives to make clients feel at ease, safe and empowered as they navigate the complexities of the Family Law legal process.

 

By approaching each matter with this delicate care, Jessica can prioritise a clients’ well-being in addition to their legal needs to provide them with a holistic support base during what is normally a very difficult time in their life.
