The journey into law… 

Grant Malfitano was admitted to the Supreme Court in 2009 and has since practised exclusively in family law. He has developed a dedicated, highly focussed practice founded on an ethos of providing clients with high quality legal advice and achieving desired outcomes.

Experience in family law 

Grant has worked in registries and jurisdictions throughout Sydney and the South Coast having worked in Wollongong, Campbelltown, and the Sutherland Shire before focusing his practice in both Sydney and Parramatta.

Other areas of expertise

In addition to law Grant has completed two Masters Degrees in English with the University of Sydney and has taught at an undergraduate level. Grant is in the process of completing his PhD. Grant is also eligible to complete the family law specialist accreditation program.

The passion for family law

Grant is adept at all facets of family law including complex property, parenting, child support, and spouse maintenance matters, including high-value property disputes and relocation. He is skilled in drafting the complex documentation involved in a family law dispute, and, if a matter must proceed to a court hearing, he is experienced in briefing and liaising with Counsel.

Grant brings a calm, empathetic and confident demeanour to what is undoubtedly a difficult and emotional period in a client’s life, using his family law experience to provide competent and detailed advice while compassionately guiding clients through the court process.

Passion outside of the law 

Grant is a creative mind: a trained saxophonist, drummer, and percussionist, passionate writer of stories and screenplays, cinephile, podcast listener, sports enthusiast, and former competitive athlete.
