The journey into law…

Donna has been working in the legal profession since 2014 initially as a Court Monitor in the Supreme Court, the District Court, the Land & Environment Court and at the Civil & Administrative Tribunal. She subsequently worked in various firms as a paralegal prior to her admission.

 

Following admission as a solicitor, Donna found her passion and began specialising in family law and criminal law.

 

Experience in family law

Donna’s knowledge and experience in family law spans across both parenting and property disputes.

 

She has advised on divorce, pre-action procedures, litigation, contravention applications, recovery orders, spousal maintenance, child support, complex parenting risk issues, high net worth property matters, and various other areas of family law.

 

Donna has experience negotiating at mediation and resolving matters on an amicable and commercial basis. For matters than cannot be resolved by consent, she frequently appears before the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia to advocate for her clients in litigated matters.

 

Other areas of expertise

Donna also practises in criminal law as a Defence Lawyer assisting clients who have been wrongly accused and appearing frequently in Courts all over New South Wales.

 

This experience further allows her to assist family law clients who have been subjected to family violence or financial control during the relationship and advise them in a discrete and confidential manner.

 

The passion for family law

Donna is drawn to family law as she is interested in helping clients during a difficult transition period following separation. She strives to achieve the best outcome for clients and has their best interest at the forefront of her advice.

Donna aims to achieve a practical and timely outcome for her clients while ensuring that they are kept informed throughout the process. She understands that it is important to take the time to listen to her clients as each family law matter is unique and will tailor her advice to their individual circumstances.

 

Donna supports her clients in negotiating the best outcome to finalise the parenting or property dispute in an effective manner. She acknowledges, that at times, litigation may be necessary and will assist clients in navigating their way through their legal issues and the complex Court process.

Passion outside of the law

Donna enjoys travelling, going to the beach, Pilates and spending time with family/friends.

Donna also speaks Vietnamese and so is able to assist Vietnamese speaking clients with their matters.
