Anita Vayanos will forever be remembered as a cherished member of our legal team. Anita’s legacy in Family Law is unparalleled, marked by her unwavering dedication and expertise.
Anita embarked on her legal journey in 1996, admitted as a solicitor in the Supreme Court of New South Wales and the High Court of Australia. Throughout her 25-year career, she championed the cause of countless families, navigating them through the complexities of Family Law with compassion and proficiency.
As Special Counsel in Family Law at Unified Lawyers, Anita’s impact was profound. Her commitment to excellence earned her team recognition as the top three Family Law Lawyers in Sydney for seven consecutive years, from 2017 to 2023. Anita led a team of formidable family lawyers, nurturing and mentoring numerous junior lawyers, leaving an indelible mark on both her colleagues and the legal profession as a whole.
Anita’s approach was characterised by empathy and pragmatism. She invested time in understanding each client’s unique circumstances, guiding them with clarity and support. Whether facilitating amicable resolutions or navigating complex litigations, Anita’s expertise shone through, offering practical solutions to even the most intricate family disputes.
Her fluency in Greek extended her reach, allowing her to assist Greek-speaking clients with utmost proficiency and understanding.
Anita’s contributions to Family Law were vast and varied, spanning from negotiated settlements to high-stakes litigations involving intricate financial structures and delicate family dynamics. Her expertise encompassed a wide array of matters, including spousal maintenance, child custody disputes, and cases of domestic violence.
Beyond her legal expertise, Anita will be remembered for her warmth, integrity, humour and unwavering advocacy for justice. Her passing leaves a void in our hearts and in the legal community that cannot be filled.
As we continue our journey without Anita, we will continue to honour her memory by continuing to uphold the principles of compassion and integrity she exemplified in her life’s work. May her legacy endure as a beacon of guidance and inspiration for generations to come.
