The journey into law…

Anita Vayanos is Special Counsel in Family Law at Unified Lawyers and has worked exclusively in Family Law since 2000. In addition, Anita has also completed the academic qualifications for Family Dispute Resolution (FDRP) as a mediator.

Anita is admitted as a solicitor in the Supreme Court of New South Wales and the High Court of Australia in 1996 and has been a practicing solicitor for over 25 years and Special Counsel in Family Law for 10 years. Prior to this time Anita practised in personal injury litigation, general litigation and conveyancing.

Her many years of experience provides a solid foundation in understanding of the Family Law legislation, court processes, mediation processes and strategy. Anita provides practical, easy to understand advice and cost effective solutions to resolving your family law matter.

Anita’s family law team was ranked best three Family Law Lawyers in Sydney for 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023.

Anita takes time to understand her client’s unique circumstances and what they seek to achieve, then guides them through the process and supports them every step of the way. Wherever possible, Anita ensures that all effort is made to settle her clients’ matters amicably saving time, money, and stress. If this cannot be achieved, she is well versed in the court processes to move her clients’ matters to finality.

Her experience in Family Law includes simple to complex negotiated settlements as well as litigated matters in property matters involving complex business structures, Trusts, hidden assets, wasting matrimonial assets by gambling and other abuses,  family violence including physical psychological and  financial abuse, children’s cases involving addictions, coaching of a child against a parent, mental health issues of a party, very serious child abuse cases in the Magellan list of the Court, spousal maintenance, spousal maintenance Agreements, Binding Financial Agreements, Child Support Agreements and all other facets of Family Law.

Anita also speaks Greek fluently and so is able to assist Greek speaking clients with all their family law matters.
