What are the basic principles of parenting arrangements?
Posted on October 16, 2022 by Sophia Bechara - Family Lawyer
There are three basic principles that need to be taken into account when making parenting arrangements. These are:
1.The parents should share the parenting responsibilities equally
2.The parents should try and make parenting arrangements without going to court
3.The parents are both responsible for the child until the child is 18 years old
It’s important to acknowledge that these principles may not always be able to be applied in every circumstance. If it’s not in the child’s best interests or there’s a risk of harm to the child, then they may not apply.
