The Ontario Secondary School Teachers` Federation (OSSTF) has announced that another one-day walk in some Ontario school boards will take place on Wednesday, January 15, if no agreement is reached. It is important to note that this Walkout has no effect on TDSB. In the spring of 2017, a two-year renewal agreement was ratified by the central parties and, in accordance with the OSSTF Constitution, ratification of accession was necessary. The ratification vote was successful in approrogating the extension agreement and thus changing the central conditions for the 2017-2019 school years. The renewal agreement included the Employee Life and Health Trust (ELHT). OSSTF ELHT is called OSSTFBenefits. OsSTFBenefits Trust newsletters and information can only be accessed on the OSSTF province website for members. The Ontario Public School Boards Association (OPSBA) and the Ontario government have reached a preliminary agreement with the Federation of Secondary Education Teachers (OSSTF) at centralized bargaining tables for casual teachers and teaching workers. OSSTF indicated that the new treaty would be submitted for ratification in May. As in previous strike days, the TDSB would have no choice but to close all secondary schools (9-12) to students tomorrow, for lack of sufficient supervision to ensure their safety. Parents/guardians are required to make alternative arrangements for their children if necessary.
Please note that school offices are always open. Once again, the TDSB would have no choice but to close all secondary schools for students, including the People`s University and the Night School, who provide secondary education services because there would not be sufficient supervision to ensure their safety. All classes, including e-learning classes, and all extracurricular activities (for example. B, excursions, sports, etc.) would be cancelled that day. Therefore, parents/caregivers should, if necessary, make alternative arrangements for their children. OSSTF also indicated that on 21 January, the Walkout will be the last full withdrawal of services by OSSTF members until the secondary education exam. The Ontario Secondary School Teachers` Federation (OSSTF) announced today that its members (teachers and education workers) will complete a one-day walkout (full withdrawal of services) on Thursday, March 5, 2020 and return to work on Friday, March 6, 2020. In the event of a stoppage on March 5, the TDS would have no choice but to close all secondary schools (gr. 9 to 12) for students, for lack of sufficient supervision to ensure their safety. All TDSB High Schools (Classes 9-12) are closed to students today (Wednesday, December 11, 2019) due to a one-day visit by teachers and teachers from the Ontario Secondary School Teachers` Federation (OSSTF). Parents/guardians are required to make alternative arrangements for their children if necessary.
