Sophie Booth – Family Law Paralegal
Bachelor of Social Science Major in Public Policy, Law and Governance and Juris Doctor
Having graduated from Macquarie University in 2018 with a Bachelor of Social Science, majoring in Public Policy, Law and Governance, Sophie has always been passionate about the integral connection between law and society. Sophie’s primary reason for engaging with the Juris Doctor Degree was to provide pragmatic solutions for the community during vulnerable and uncertain points in their lives. In 2021, Sophie graduated from my Juris Doctor with Distinction, also obtaining a Distinction in my Family Law studies.
Prior to joining Unified Lawyers, Sophie worked for a legal services company, providing paralegal assistance to global firms. Sophie then began working as a family law paralegal, gaining invaluable experience working on a variety of family law matters including parenting disputes, property settlements, contravention applications and matters to be prepared for trial.
During Sophie’s time as a family law paralegal, she has been able to gain valuable skills in drafting documents for Court, connecting with clients, and conducting legal research for matters before the Federal Circuit Court, Family Court and Supreme Court of New South Wales.
This experience has allowed Sophie to create close relationships with clients, understanding that every family law issue is complex and presents a unique set of circumstances. For this reason, Sophie is incredibly focused on developing client relationships and will always go above and beyond to provide pragmatic solutions to unique legal issues. Sophie understands that involvement in the Family Law system can be an incredibly challenging process for clients and will always ensure that advice is provided in a clear and concise manner, with clients feeling confident and heard throughout their matter.
Outside of family law, Sophie enjoys traveling, bushwalking, and attending boxing classes. Sophie has recently started volunteering at her local aged care facility, which she finds incredibly fulfilling.
