The journey into law…

Lauren Patane commenced her legal career in 2022 as an administrative assistant at an established commercial, litigation and family law firm. In January 2023, she moved into a legal assistant role in the litigation team of the firm where she was exposed to a variety of disputes including insolvency, contractual disputes, debt recovery, property and leasing disputes, and building and construction matters.

Lauren’s interest in family law began when she undertook a work experience opportunity at a specialist family law firm during her studies. Lauren has primarily worked in litigation but has transitioned to family law since joining Unified Lawyers in December 2024. Lauren brings a diverse background and skillset allowing her to handle complex tasks that aid in the preparation and execution of family law matters.

Whilst working at Unified Lawyers, Lauren is committed to finishing her law degree at the Queensland University of Technology, where she will then go on to complete her diploma in legal practice.

Experience in family law

During Lauren’s previous legal support roles, she assisted in various litigation matters leading up to mediation and court hearings. Lauren has experience with drafting correspondence, organising disclosure documents, collating briefs, preparing court documents, court filing and liaising with clients and the court. Lauren’s pragmatic approach to problems ensures that she can effectively support a legal team during family law proceedings. Lauren is committed to the continuous learning in her role as she works closely with family lawyers and stays updated on changes in family law.

Other areas of expertise

In addition to Lauren’s litigation experience, Lauren has experience with other areas of law such as family, personal injury, and wills and estate law.
