The journey into law…
Kerry has worked in the legal profession since 2017, beginning her career while completing her law degree and Practical Legal Training. During this time, she balanced study with part-time work and gained invaluable early experience in a family law Community Legal Centre, which confirmed her desire to practise in family law.
After graduating from Murdoch University and completing her Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice, Kerry commenced full-time work in private practice in Western Australia within a mid-sized family law firm. It was there that she developed her technical foundations and deepened her passion for the area.
Kerry was later presented with the opportunity to take her career interstate, where she played a crucial leadership role in her former firm’s expansion from Western Australia into Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria. Since then, she has practised exclusively in family law across multiple jurisdictions in Australia.
Kerry is now based in Queensland, where she continues to practise predominantly.
The passion for family law
For Kerry, assisting clients during some of the most difficult and emotionally charged times of their lives is both a responsibility and a privilege. Achieving strong outcomes that provide stability and clarity for individuals and families is what drives her.
Since becoming a mother herself, and having grown up in a separated family, Kerry brings both professional insight and personal understanding to her work. These experiences have deepened her commitment to guiding clients through the family law system with strength, compassion and clarity.
Experience in family law
Kerry is approaching a decade in the legal profession, with the vast majority of her experience dedicated exclusively to family law.
She brings extensive experience across complex and high-risk parenting disputes, contravention and enforcement proceedings, and high net worth property settlements involving intricate asset pools including SMSFs, corporate structures, trusts and business interests. Her expertise also extends to financial agreements (including pre-nuptial agreements), divorces, child support matters, and fully litigated proceedings in the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia (Divisions 1 and 2).
In addition to litigation, Kerry has significant experience resolving matters outside of court. She regularly represents clients in mediations, negotiations, dispute resolution conferences and arbitrations, always focusing on practical and commercially sensible outcomes.
Kerry is known for her collaborative approach in her practice. She works closely with counsel, colleagues, experts and specialists across Australia to ensure her clients are comprehensively supported throughout their matter. Her approach combines strategic thinking with empathy, ensuring clients feel informed, confident and supported during what is often one of the most challenging periods of their lives.
Other areas of expertise
While Kerry has had exposure to Commercial Law, Criminal Law and Domestic Violence matters earlier in her career, her professional focus has been exclusively on Family Law.

As a mother, much of her world revolves around building a loving, grounded and joyful home. That role has strengthened her patience, perspective and resilience, qualities that also shape the way she practises law.
