The journey into law…
Elaine’s legal career began in commercial and property law before she discovered her passion for family law. Drawn to the opportunity to help people through some of the most challenging periods of their lives, she transitioned into family law and has since dedicated her practice to this area.
Experience in family law
Elaine has extensive experience advising clients on a broad range of family law matters, including parenting disputes, property settlements, divorce, child support and financial agreements. She has worked with individuals and families from diverse cultural backgrounds, providing advice tailored to their unique circumstances and objectives.
She has acted in matters involving a range of asset structures, including companies, trusts, businesses and superannuation, as well as matters involving overseas assets and cross-border family law issues, including matters where parties or assets are located in different jurisdictions. Elaine regularly assists clients in resolving disputes through negotiation, mediation and litigation.
Elaine has significant experience preparing court documents and works closely with barristers, forensic accountants, valuers and other experts to develop effective strategies tailored to each client’s individual circumstances.
Other areas of expertise
Prior to practising predominantly in family law, Elaine gained experience in commercial and property law. This background strengthened her understanding of commercial decision-making, property transactions and asset structures, enabling her to provide commercially focused advice in family law property matters.
